2019 Natural

2019

What comes to mind when you see that year?

Coming out of 2018 brings to mind many things in each of our lives.  Of course getting our first grand baby was a the most incredible thing for us this year…well for any year actually!

I also published my first book.  It felt like a very long pregnancy (25 years) and a “labor of love.”

But we have also dealt with family health issues, personal health issues, crisis times and other things like many of you.

It is life. Some years are indeed better than others. I hate to burst any bubbles out there, but it is guaranteed that in this world we will have troubles…..(John 16:3)  But we know Christ brings us peace, we can take heart, for He has overcome.

My husband said something this morning that sounds so simple.  Yet, if we really take it apart it is really pretty profound.

Natural.

Let it all be natural.

Don’t try to make things happen. Quit working so hard. Just be. Rest in Christ’s peace, grace and love.  Let it flow.

I have used the illustration before about a glass of soda.  If you pour into it, the fizz overflows over the top of the glass and onto the table. And there is still soda left in the glass!

If we allow Jesus to “fill us up,” He will overflow onto all those around us and still be in the glass to take care of us.

Naturally.

Happy 2019!

Life Badges

I have missed writing each week as I have missed you!  I truly wonder how I ever worked a full-time, 40+ hour a week job!

We head six hours south every chance we get to see our first grandchild.  She has most certainly captured our hearts.  She is 7 weeks old and time is going faster with her than it did with our own sons. Could it be because it is not day-to-day with her and just cuddling and loving when we see her?   Continue reading Life Badges

I am Still Here

Just checking in!  As I mentioned in my last post, our granddaughter arrived a couple of weeks early and is doing very well!  She is precious and we are so excited. She is loved by two sets of grandparents who are experiencing their first grandchild, as well as so many friends and family!

I am back to working on the third edit of “Unexpected Gifts” and each time I go through it myself I find more to correct.  I guess that is the teacher in me too, I want everything to be correct, and I am sure I will miss some items.  I will run it through the “Grammarly” program again after this edit.

There sure is a lot to think about when writing and publishing a book!  I have always felt it was to be published on Amazon as an e-book.  Self-publishing a book in print can be quite costly, and right now that is not something we feel like I should do.

So, prayers appreciated.  I know that I know, that I know I am supposed to get this book out there. Oddly enough I have two more book outlines started already. The second book will be a devotional and the other is another piece of fiction.  Although I might make a second book in this series, we will just wait and see what the response is……

So my prayer is that you all are doing well.  I hope to be back to blogging and staying in contact with all of you again soon.

Much love!
