About T.W. Allgaier

I love Jesus. If I say nothing else, that is enough. But for those curiosity seekers, I am a 61 year old former special education teacher, current part time CCM Radio Announcer and author... who is married to her high school sweetheart. We have been together for 44 years, married almost 41 of those years! We have raised two sons, who are now married, have jobs and mortgages. AND...we became grandparents to a beautiful baby girl in 2018!! We also have our furry son, a West Highland Terrier. My heart's desire is to encourage people in their daily life. I believe that the Father speaks to us all the time, sometimes I have been too busy to listen. Even during times of trials and troubles, which seem endless right now in 2021, HE is present and loves us unconditionally. Thanks for reading. ~Be Encouraged Today~

Dream of Direction

Hello, it has been a while!

A couple of weeks ago, I woke up with 1 Peter on my mind.  I usually don’t dream about specific books of the Bible, so I made a mental note to read and study it.

I was already doing a study on Revelation (Amir Tsarfati’s “Revealing Revelation,” which is one of the best studies I have ever done.)  But, not wanting to get off track, I put Peter off.

For someone who seems to forget things rather easily, 1 Peter would not go away! I finally began to read it and was not surprised that immediately it spoke to my heart and right where I was emotionally and spiritually.  And as I read on, I realized its theme was hope for believers in their suffering. And as believers, it continue to let us know that we can allow the grace of God to be amplified in our lives.

“Praised [honored, blessed] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ [the Messiah]. By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,[born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, who are being guarded by God’s power through[your] faith [until you full inherit that final] salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time.”  I Peter 1:3-5 AMP

I have always believed that I was called to be an encourager, thus my participation in particular ministries over the last three decades and these blog posts and books, among other things.  It truly is “in giving we receive”.  Life has often gotten in the way, but I pray that through these trials, “the grace of God has been amplified in…my life.”

As God continued to speak to me through His word, I realized how timely it was several times throughout the week.  After having a couple of conversations with people, I would come upon the very situation we were talking about…you guessed it, right in 1 Peter!

Why even my desk calendar for August 6 was on 1 Peter 5:6-7 AMP “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, casting the whole of your care[all your anxieties, worries, concerns once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

Why does any of this matter?  Because we matter…to God.  He wants to have an intimate relationship with us. He wants to save us! The God of the Universe wants us to know that He loves us, and that He has a plan for our lives.  He wants to encourage us, but as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, sometimes we are too busy…to hear what He has to say.

We get so “busy” with the things we think we should be busy with and those “good things” that we miss the very Word He wants to speak into our heart for the moment we need it most.

I simply don’t want to miss Him and what He has to say.  He has always been faithful and will continue to be so.  I know that to always be true, even when its hard…even if it doesn’t turn out like I want it to….He is faithful.

I pray He helps me listen more, and talk less.

We Enter In

Holman Bible Dictionary defines “compassion” as “to feel passion with someone, to enter sympathetically into their sorrow and pain.”

Compassion in English translations represents at least five Hebrew and eight Greek terms in the Bible and include additional definitions: possess grace and charm and be gracious, emotional expression of crying and feeling with someone who is hurting, to be sorry for, a mother and father’s love and compassion, emotions aroused by another undeserving or in pain and suffering and other similar definitions.

As we intercede in prayer, or pray to God on other’s behalf… we truly experience this. I have had this happen several times when praying for others as they have suffered loss and pain unimaginable.  One wise prayer warrior once told me that “the Lord allows those of us that pray to help carry the burden of the one under such grief.”  We enter in.

The last several days as this hideous attack has been taking place in Ukraine, we…

… Try to go on with “life” by doing all the normal things.

But then look at the news, scroll on social media, pray, cry…repeat.

…And know that the Ukrainians and those that love them are not going on with “life.” They are in subways, bomb shelters, fleeing their homes and watching what is happening to their homeland and loved ones from afar.

Lord, hear our prayers. In the depths of our souls, we feel pain for their suffering. We enter in.

We know the Lord is close to them.  I have seen reports from pastors and leaders in the area who say they feel the prayers.

We pray it is over soon…our hearts ache and we want to add action to our prayers. I have researched for legitimate ways in which to help the Ukrainian people. I will provide the links for you to explore yourself if that is something you feel led to do.

Psalm 34:15-18 “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.  The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;  he delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Philippines 2:3-4 “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

True Confession

True Confession~😔

If the Father can find an ear cuff for me on a parking lot, why can’t HE totally heal my Valley Fever? I wrote about it a wonderful “God Wink” yesterday.

Yes, I asked him that question today. My Abba Father can handle my honest questions, He knows my heart anyway. I had another CT scan on my lungs. My left lung still has lesions, nodules and a cavity. No change. My blood work still shows an “active” case.

So after a bit of crying and wondering, I was reminded of the Apostle Paul and the thorn in his side that he really did not want either. My thorn is a fungus. And everyone has something!

I choose to be thankful, that in this fallen world…my Father understands my frustration and weeps with me. I choose to trust Him.

Why? Because I am feeling so much better, can do things I wondered if I would ever be able to do again. I have never been as sick as I was those eleven days in the hospital and months at home. And I am stable. Even after Covid in August, no additional damage. I am so grateful.

God will never leave nor forsake me. He will never leave nor forsake you. When we don’t “feel” like He is listening, He is listening. My faith is not in my ability to believe I can be healed here on earth, but HIS ability to sustain me no matter what comes my way.

God proves to me over and over that HE is with me. It isn’t always the circumstances that I want, but this world is not what He wanted it to be either… and yet, HE provided Jesus for us…for our eternal life. For our HOPE in our todays.

Jesus is with you in your todays, in your disappointments, in your pain, in your sorrow. He was with you yesterday, and He will be with you in your tomorrows.

The trust has nothing to do with our ability, but with His grace.

Psalm 46:1-3 “God is our shelter and strength,

always ready to help in times of trouble.

So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken

and mountains fall into the ocean depths;

even if the seas roar and rage,

and the hills are shaken by the violence.”
