Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord....

Easter Week

I was thinking about Palm Sunday today.

Matthew 21:6-11 “The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
‘Hosanna to the Son of David!’
‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’
‘Hosanna in the highest heaven!’
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?’
The crowds answered, ‘This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.’”

We know the story. A week later they were yelling for His crucifixion. The crowd sentiment had changed. How horrible!

But I am not sure I am much different. I would hope I wouldn’t be yelling for his crucifixion, but how do I know? I don’t for sure.  I know I prefer thinking I would be different.

How often have I said “Praise the Lord” when things are going great? “Praise the Lord”….great doctor’s report. “Praise the Lord”….incredible Biblical conference. “Praise the Lord”…..answered prayer.

But if there are rough circumstances in life….do I “Praise the Lord.”?

The doctor’s report wasn’t as I would have liked…do I “Praise the Lord”?
I did not get to attend the conference….do I “Praise the Lord.?
The prayers weren’t answered as I had thought they should be…do I “Praise the Lord?”

So as I concentrate upon Easter this week, I will examine my heart. I want to “Praise the Lord” in all situations, basically trusting Him 100%.

I know He loves me…He loves us friends!  Letting that soak in and envelop our hearts will take us to a place of total trust.  We have to trust Him and praise Him in all situations. But it is our choice to do so.

Are you Alone?

Loneliness 2

Are there days that you feel as though you are alone sitting in the middle of the ocean on an uninhabited island?

Then again, how many of us would give anything to go there right now!? But that is not the point…..

Have you ever been in the middle of a large crowd and felt more alone than if you were really in the middle of that ocean?

We have Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, text messages and instant communication that far exceeds anything we ever thought possible.

And yet, we often feel alone.

social media

Why is that? Better yet, are we ever alone? Have we created our own environment of loneliness?

I am as guilty as the next guy with my cell phone and accessing all the communication possibilities within my grasp. My husband is not interested in any of those things, in fact as he says, he has a “dumb phone”…flip phone for that guy!

He makes a valid point.

It is much easier to access communication and relationships in that fashion. We can say what we want to say, but those verbal cues are missing. Which can be good….or bad.

It is so interesting that the very mode of communication that we seek within social media is available to us 24/7 and has been for years…our communication with the Father.

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

He gets the non verbal cues, listens when we feel alone, knows when we are hurting, and we can access Him at any time of the morning, noon or night. He will never leave nor forsake you.

That’s communication I understand, although admittedly…..sometimes take for granted.

We must always remember that we truly never alone…HE is always with us.

That 4-Letter Word!!

Snow

I have enjoyed this great day full of sunshine and warmer temperatures along with the rest of the area! Sun roof open, walk outside, dinner grilled by the hubby. As I said in my Facebook post…good for the soul.

Spring reminds us of new beginnings…new growth. We feel fresh and relish in the thought of getting out from the doldrums of cold. We are reminded that no matter what we have been through or what the season has brought us, we can begin again. We don’t have to stay stuck in our mistakes. We can pick up and start all over.
