Face to Face with the Younger Me

I like the CCM group, For King and Country so much. They have a song which I like for a lot of reasons…but “Fix My Eyes” is such a good message to my younger self.

I turned 54 the other day. This was the age in which my dad died of a sudden heart attack. A rather sobering thought..and he seemed so young to me then. It seems really young to me now.

My body tells me that this ‘ole earth suit has aged..but the brain doesn’t feel the same.

But with age there has come some wisdom. Wisdom on what is important in life, and wisdom to know that I myself am not wise at all, that all I am is because of Jesus Christ.

God’s Handiwork

We’ve just come back from a wonderful vacation.

We were able to spend some time on Sanibel Island, FL and a sunset on Siesta Key, FL.

We always love the beach, but this year we seem to notice so many examples of God’s creation that just stood out to us. I think that as we get older we actually stop and take time to see….more than when we were young and so busy.

Websters defines “Handiwork” as “work done by the hands; work done personally.”

Everyone has them…no one is exempt.

Jesus said, “Therefore do no worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”  Matthew 6:34 and also in John 16:33  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart, I have overcome the world.” Continue reading TROUBLES
