The last week has been one of remembrance of sort. Also a week of appreciation. And a week to stand.
A friend of ours passed on to his heavenly home this week, which put us in contact with many of our high school friends.
We all have lost people that are too young. We watch the nightly news and we are frustrated with the world, the nation and all the news seems bad.
It may very well be a “doom and gloom” scenario….but I am tired of living there. It is what it is indeed, and prayer is our obligation and hope for this nation through Jesus Christ.
So where did my “abundant life” disappear to? I let it slip away moment by moment…I let the truth of the gospel get away from me in the swirling circumstances of life. It is easy to do.
John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
But my husband and I decided to stop the madness. We are choosing to stop each week and find something to appreciate. Right now it is the outdoors, with all God’s creation. We are trying to take one day and visit our area, right in our back door so to speak…and appreciate all we have before us. It doesn’t cost money and it makes us see life!
We want to count it all joy. We want to live in that life that He created here on earth.
Is it always easy? No. But it is a choice we must make.
To rest in HIS presence…no matter the place, the circumstances or the environment. He provides perfect peace that passes all understanding.
Should we stand around wringing our hands crying “whoa is me”? Or should we raise our hands in “Praise to God”?
I think I am going to go with the hand raising.
Who is with me?
