Along with thousands of others, the hubs and I saw this great movie. I have not read the book(on my Kindle now),but according to some of my friends who have..she only gives mention to a life changing part of the book. However, they were basically pleased with the telling of the story. This of course is a true story of Louis Zamperini,(January 26, 1917 – July 2, 2014) an American World War II prisoner of war survivor, Christian inspirational speaker, and Olympic distance runner. 35 Years Ago Today…..The Secret!

35 Years Ago Today….

I married this skinny 20 year old boy from the east side of town. I was 19 and we married between semesters of college. The church was already decorated; even though green and red are my least favorite colors in the world. We had a woman “practice” the beginning of her photography career on us, and the dress was a second hand dress from a friend who had worn it in a pageant. I actually paid more for the hat, it was 1979 after all.

The church had just barely completed a total auditorium remodel the day before, it was icy outside, the cake was lop sided with a knife propping up one side, and my dad wasn’t even in attendance. A Sponge

Have you ever soaked up liquid with a sponge? You can just sit it in the liquid and the next thing you know, all the liquid is contained in that sponge. It doesn’t seem to ever fill up.

That is us friends. We soak up what is around us. If we are around negative people all the time….we kind of get to be that way. If we are around positive people on a daily basis, we seem to change our attitude as well.
