35 Years Ago Today…..The Secret!

35 Years Ago Today….

I married this skinny 20 year old boy from the east side of town. I was 19 and we married between semesters of college. The church was already decorated; even though green and red are my least favorite colors in the world. We had a woman “practice” the beginning of her photography career on us, and the dress was a second hand dress from a friend who had worn it in a pageant. I actually paid more for the hat, it was 1979 after all.

The church had just barely completed a total auditorium remodel the day before, it was icy outside, the cake was lop sided with a knife propping up one side, and my dad wasn’t even in attendance. Tend Like

The other day I was shopping and heard the sweetest conversation. Two little brothers were playing “tend like” as they followed their mother around while she pushed her cart down the aisles.

“Tend like you are the helper explorer and you are trying to get me to stay and fight the battle in the water with you.” “Ok, tend like we are both brother explorers and we both have to fight the sea monster in the battle.” “Grrrr, sppp, druppp” (I assume that was the sea monster) Continue reading Tend Like →

Christmas and the Ornaments

What is it about the ornaments?

We put our tree up last week and it seemed to take forever. Without mentioning the need to take out each individual branch, fluff it and place it within the correct letter coordinate…..it was about the ornaments.

After each ornament was upwrapped and tenderly placed on the table, I had to look at each one as I put it on the tree. My hubby was trying to help, but I made him stop so I could look at which one he had picked up. Continue reading What is it about Christmas Ornaments? →
