Encouragement for Today~In today's world of swirling circumstances, we need to be reminded of how much we are loved by God.

A Changing God?

Does HE Change?

I have been very weary before…
While practicing abiding in His rest and peace, sometimes life just gets to me.
Circumstances swirl in a major way….
Taking it a day at a time, sometimes an hour at a time…hey, sometimes a moment at a time.

I have been there..

I was reminded of Joseph. Poor guy was sold by his brothers into slavery while still a young boy. He was thrown into prison, but eventually put into a position of authority by the Pharaoh of Egypt. God used his life in an incredible way, even later saving his father and brothers and their families when famine struck their land. (Genesis 37-48)

Bible 1

God was able.

Moses. Now there is a story. He was born at a time when that Pharaoh felt threatened by the Israelites and their population. So his mom saved his life by placing him in a basket in the Nile River (a basket!!). Some years later, after adoption by the Pharoh’s daughter, murder, running away and other such things…God chose Moses to lead His people out of Egypt! He even chose to speak to him through a Burning Bush!

Exodus 3:14-15 picks up where Moses is whining and telling God he doesn’t believe he can do this unbelievable thing. He asks God how he should talk to the Israelites about it? The ever loving, patient God responds

“God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ God also said to Moses, Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’’This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation. Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.'”

So what does that say to us?

HE is still saying: “Friend, I AM. I AM the one who led Joseph to his position of power from the pits of prison. I AM the one who carried Moses from the basket in the Nile to the encounter with the burning bush. I AM the one who can get you through this trying time! I NEVER CHANGE!”

Malachi 3:6: “I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.”

James 1:16-17 “Every good and perfect gift is from the Father above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

HE is still the great I AM and He sees your pain, hurt and situation…He understands you are weary. Lean into HIM friends…

I don’t know what prison you find yourself in, or basket you might be trapped in with no control over the situation…but I know this….

He is never changing and He is the great……..

I love Jesus. If I say nothing else, that is enough. But for those curiosity seekers, I am a 60 year old former special education teacher, current part time CCM Radio Announcer and author... who is married to her high school sweetheart. We have been together for 44 years, married almost 41 of those years! We have raised two sons, who are now married, have jobs and mortgages. AND...we became grandparents to a beautiful baby girl in 2018!! We also have our furry son, a West Highland Terrier. My heart's desire is to encourage people in their daily life. I believe that the Father speaks to us all the time, sometimes I have been too busy to listen. Even during times of trials and troubles, which seem endless right now in 2020, HE is present and loves us unconditionally. Thanks for reading. ~Be Encouraged Today~
