The Connection
My life is about to change. Disconnection is about to enter my life for approximately 8 days. We are changing our internet service provider and there will be a gap in service. Oh my, I wonder how I will survive?
I feel the need to be connected. I am told that we need telephone jacks in order to be wired correctly. We have two jacks, but they are not working at all. So, the technician will have to be paid to come and connect it. One wrong tug, move, or incorrect wiring would destroy the connection or keep it from happening! It will need to be done correctly, or the connection will not take place.
Reminds me of my spiritual life. I need to stay connected to my Heavenly Father. It is so easy in today’s busy world to lose our connection. I don’t have time to talk to my Father, miss the time reading His word, worship time…teaching. All these things, or should I say..lack of things…will “disconnect” me from my Father. Choices I make…and I must have the daily connection to get through this life.
There are times we may choose to break away from the connection by running away. We might engage in sin, be caught up in the fruit…and not want the connection by running away. Or we might be playing a game with ourselves. We act like we are in an intimate relationship with the Lord and yet our hearts are empty, or even legalistic. In reality we are no different than the outlet getting ready to fall apart!
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
I must ask myself. Am I as worried about losing a connection with the Father as I am being away from the internet? The great thing is…..all I have to do is go to Him…He is not going anywhere!
