Have you ever been around a new born at birth? I have been a birthing coach a few times, had my own sons…so this is melded in my heart. It cries…it is expected to cry and should cry. Do you know what usually calms that cry? It is actually a a rather universal solution….place that child in its’ momma’s arms. You will hear the soothing whispers of that mother and soon those cries disappear.
A three year old says “look what I did Mommy” This child wants Mommy to see what he did! He wants her to be proud of him.
The teen years pose a somewhat different need. Acceptance by friends and peers. Wear the right clothes, say the correct things.
Yep, adults are no different. We really do want to be accepted and loved.
We all have the basic need of being love, valued and accepted.
Romans 15:7 “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Did Christ accept you? Yes! Does He value you? Yes!
Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord you God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you and will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Rejoice in this scripture means to “spin around under the influence of violent emotion. God loves us with an intensity beyond human comprehension. He also sings over us!
We are accepted by JESUS. We are accepted, valued and loved unconditionally by the one who saved us.
How about taking a spin….around your kids? A good game of “Ring Around the Rosey” might be in order about now!!
IN CHRIST ALONE
