Unlimited Plan

We are always looking for a deal on our cell phone plans.  An “unlimited plan” is always the goal with a great price.

To obtain the necessary information when you need it with no limits on how much or how often.  To have unlimited access to call or text anyone on your contact list.smartphone-1894723_1280

We already have it.

I am not talking about any of those major cell phone companies, or even the ones that advertise to the “vintage crowd” such as me.

You probably know where I am going with this…God seems to always use the very simple things in life to speak to my heart or confirm what I already know to be true.  He knows that I need that sometimes.

We have “unlimited data” and “unlimited access” to our heavenly Father.  We can talk to Him anytime, night or day.  We are never told how much or how often.  I don’t have to worry about charges, that debt has been paid.

How is that for an “unlimited plan?”

Pretty simple, huh?  Sometimes simple is good.  No complications, no definitions, no arguments…and no customer service reps to have to go through.

There is a song playing right now that has spoken to my heart like none other has in a very long time.  It is pretty simple.  It acknowledges who God is and how we worship HIM.

Here is part of it:

“You are here….Moving in our midst….I worship you…..I worship you

Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness..

My God, that is who you are.” (written by Sinach)

Way Maker sung by Mandisa

So as simple as it seems, the unlimited plan we have with our God is amazing.  Don’t complicate it.

He loves us.  And when we surrender to that love, embrace and believe it….He can love others through us.

It is that simple.

I am going to keep taking advantage of this unlimited plan, how about you?

40 Years and Filling in the Blanks

We were babies. Some thought we would not make it, yet here we are 40 years later.

We have been looking through pictures from years gone by and each one of us remembering things the other did not.

We fill in the blanks for one another. That is what marriage is…not perfect, not easy, not always fun and a lot of work.

But, you fill in the blanks for each other. Our faith has allowed us to love each other when we really did not like each other.

Our faith has gotten us through the good, bad and the ugly.

Our faith helps us fill in the blanks.

We are grateful for each other and appreciate each other more and more every day.

When we got in the jeep this afternoon, “by chance” a song by the BeeGees was on…

“How Deep is Your Love” was playing. Yes, we both got tears in our eyes and went back to those days we first fell in love.

We still love each other. A lot. More than we ever thought possible.

We don’t always agree, and we bicker still…but he takes care of me when I am down(which has been a lot lately) and I encourage him.

We fill in the blanks for one another, and hopefully, God willing…we will do so for another 40 or so years.40 Years!

Connect the Dots

I have rewritten this post several times, and prayed about even sharing it. But I know that writing and talking have always been therapeutic for me, even since a young child.

I was reminded that sometimes the very things we go through can actually help others. I have seen it all my life.  Things happen, so we can choose to be “BItter” or “Better”.

Which leads me to the game of “Dots.”

Remember that game?  Make dots on a paper and then take turns with others to see who can “connect the dots” and make the first square?  Your initial claims that box as your own!  Who ever has the most boxes once all the dots are connected wins the game!polka-dots-875047_1280

Connecting dots.  I have been doing some of that lately with my health.

Over seven year and I have a couple of boxes almost connected.

I have been praying for answers, in particular the last eight months as the pain, spasms, weakness, and swelling, etc.. have all gotten worse.  I just knew something was not right.  But I also knew that these “old earth suits” wear out.

Over six years ago I was so stressed that I quit teaching, lost a third of my hair, was diagnosed with alopecia from a biopsy, had a basal cell carcinoma removed, numbness and swelling in my feet, ankles and right hand. My back and neck hurt all the time. Then chronic pain started with my feet and went up my legs with spasms and Charlie Horses. And a hip replacement four years ago did not relieve that pain. I could go on…as could many of you.

This “earth suit” was really in need of repair. LOL

I have really made an effort to take care of myself with natural supplements, good eating, exercise.  But I really felt I hit a brick wall and no one could give me answers.  Four doctors later, five minutes into the exam…the rheumatologist/neurologist was talking about a “central nervous system disorder.”

Several questions and procedures later, my husband and I left with a lot of test orders and a lot of questions that hopefully will be answered the end of this month.  The “dots” were connecting, the game was just not over.

I just spent the week with our 15 month old granddaughter, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy in Sept.  She is my inspiration. She is strong, she is determined.

I will fight this chronic pain with all I have.  I will learn as much as I can about self care. And I will trust my Abba.

Everyone has something. I know people are dealing with so many issues.  Pain is subjective and no one really understands what the other person is going through, we just pray that the Father will give us the compassion we need for each other.

My Jesus gets it. He has proven Himself faithful over and over in my life.

He gets all our pain, our heartache, our hurt.

Hang on to that….and hopefully you can connect the dots too.

Psalm 119:90 “Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.”
