Just Passing Through

I write today with a heavy heart for so many. A young youth pastor was killed in an automobile accident last night with his group coming home from doing mission work. Although I do not know him personally, my heart aches for his family. He had a little one and wife. Tragic. Yet, these things are happening all around us.

People are going through severe personal issues, loss of jobs, cancer, emotional pain…the list goes on and on. And these things have gone on as long as I have been alive to remember, and they will continue to do so. I cannot fix any of it. I want to….I so hurt for them. So I pray.

The hard questions come from others. Why? Shouldn’t we pray harder? I don’t have answers for those questions, nor do I even understand what it means to pray “harder”. But I do know one thing….Jesus gets it, and my home is really not here anyway, this is indeed my temporary residence. Continue reading I Am Just Passing Through…. →

Hey you Guys! Follow ME!

He walked down the street for days. He knew that he had a mission, something that he was to do soon. He also knew that he needed to find someone to help him. He figured he would know who to ask as soon as he saw them.

The guys were playing basketball on the court outside the apartment building. “Three on Three” as they said. Terry’s team was winning. Terry had a brother on the other team that was not winning.

Are you Dehydrated?

The man was worn out. He had started his trip early in the morning. He thought he had the necessary supplies to get through the day. He was certain he had obtained all that he needed for such a hike.

Unfortunately, his thoughts proved him wrong. The car’s gas tank was showing empty. He should have stopped at the last rest area. As the needle fell past empty and the car sputtered, he knew he was in trouble.

After sitting in the car a few minutes contemplating his plight….he decided to check the nourishment packs. Only one bottle of water left! He had not picked up the second carrier as he left the park. Now what was he going to do? Continue reading Are you Dehydrated? →
