Fashion Changes

Since I have started working at a woman’s clothing boutique I have learned a lot of things!!

And since learning new things is important for ladies my age….I will continue to do so, taking notes all the way!

I have always loved fashion. My mom use to sew all my clothes when I was growing up. Some out of necessity because we did not have a lot. She could take one of her dresses and make one for me and my sister later on. It was so cool.

            

I loved jewelry and makeup, and somehow it did not get in the way of my tomboy days. Growing up in the 60’s and 70’s didn’t lend itself to getting too dolled up anyway. Bell bottoms, short skirts, long skirts, tube tops, crop pants, palazzo pants, high waisted, low waisted, overalls….you get the idea.

It got me to thinking…
Uh-Oh…..

Fashion changes, jewelry changes, hair styles change…but God never changes.

I like that.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.Things around us changes constantly, but God doesn’t.” Hebrews 13:8

I noticed that some styles come back around too. Many of the peasant tops I wore are called “boho” now. Bell bottoms are now “pants with flare legs.” Oh, if I had just kept some of those things!!

And interestingly enough, God allows us to come back around! He never leaves us…although sometimes we might feel like He does. He is always around, sometimes we just lose sight of Him! He is just waiting for us to return.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

So I think I will hang on to that tunic dress I just bought….I might wear again in 20 years!!
