Depend on God, not the Institution
I am going to make some pretty bold statements here. I have had this conversation with a number of people lately, and I share it here.
Don’t look to the institution of the church, your “Sunday go to meeting” place to give you what you need to make it through the week.
You won’t get
what you need to sustain you
in your day to day life.
Won’t happen. Cannot happen. A lesson I learn over and over.
In the era of convenience, in a world of hurry,
we want to go to one meeting a week and get our “dose” of Jesus.
We listen to the pastor preach or teach and take everything he said word for word and believe it all. Not that we should think he is lying, but we should check out what he is saying. A little bit of opinion is always thrown in, a little bit of interpretation. Hey, that is what the guy gets paid for, right?
Guess what? The Father wants to speak to us. He wants to commune with us. We don’t need someone else telling us what He says…we have the word of God. We can spend time with Him every single day. We can talk to Him every single day. It is not an activity only reserved for those being “paid” to preach.
WE have a direct line folks. If we choose to access it.
Unless you have a Prius, you cannot expect your car to run miles and miles, days on end with out getting a fill up. And as my husband prefers, keep it filled so it never hits empty.
A better spiritual lesson I have not thought of.
Don’t depend on the institution of the church…depend on the Father to sustain you through the week.
Be blessed~
