Simple Blink
Don’t do it.
Blink….
Seriously.
There was a time in my life when I thought I couldn’t blink enough times nor quick enough!!
I was knee deep in cheerios, literally. This “type A” personality gal tried so hard to organize the toys in color coded, labeled bends. That way they could be read by the boys as they “picked up” after themselves …….which I eventually considered to be a lesson well taught if one or two items a piece ended up in the proper location.
Sleeping became a luxury…..a dream….
Redefined as any amount of time that equaled 4 hours or more..straight. Funny, now I often go to bed and wake up 4 hours later, read and think nothing of not getting a full night’s sleep. I can always rest during the day.
Then when sleeping was an actual option….the four year old would crawl into bed because of a horrible dream. I knew that he wouldn’t be doing that at 13…and it ended much sooner. Now the dog lays at the foot of the bed, and we worry that when we get up we will disturb him.
I thought taking a bath was heaven if I got 5 minutes in the bubbles…alone. Now I can soak in the hot tub for as long as I want….no one is waiting to tell me about the lego castle that is keeping the dragon from getting to the village and hurting the people that live
behind the walls.
Moms told me not to “blink” because they would grow up so fast.
Well they did…..and I blinked………….
they were in college,
married,
enjoying a life all their own.
Luke 18:16 “But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”
I really think I blinked too fast.
Be blessed
