The Millinery Shop

The Millinery Shop

Although I never got to see it, my grandmother owned a millinery shop. Oh how I would have loved to seen all those hats and accessories!

Each one different than the other, no one just the same. Each one designed and made with love and devotion. I bet there was one that would even fit my very large head!

I guess that is like each one of us. Designed with love and devotion. Neither of us is the same. We all have different DNA, fingerprints, personality traits, hair color, height, weight…..you get the idea.

And each one of us is loved with a “reckless raging fury that they call the love of God.” (Rich Mullins’ The Love of God)

You may not feel that right now. That love may have seemed to alluded you, truly has not. It is there for your acceptance. For you to embrace. For you to wear….He loves you so much my friend.

Wear that hat, trust me, it fits perfectly.

Too Often

Oh my…how my heart breaks.  As a former teacher I know that there were always several drills we had to practice.  Tornadoes, storms, all of which could be horrible….but an intruder drill is most certainly something we never wanted to have to apply.

Lord, oh Lord…be with the families of those involved.  Be with those who have lost their children, their friends, their relatives.  How my heart aches for them…..

Far too often.....-2

With a heavy heart…but knowing our encouragement comes from Jesus Christ~we know that indeed~

Erase That!

I love sharp pencils. So much so that my friend at the station brought me some mechanical ones. And of course, it must have a full eraser.

I noticed the other day something interesting though, when you erase something….part of it still remains. You truly cannot erase everything. Even if you think you have done so, there is still an impression that the pencil has left.

Like our past, we truly can never rid ourselves of it. Our past can actually be our focus, or we can leave it there and look to the future.

We learn from our past if we allow the Father to use it in our lives.

Or we can keep trying and trying to erase that word instead of moving forward onto the next one.

I think I will keep looking forward, but will use that eraser when needed!
