What is True Friendship?

True Friendship-2

I have been reminded again of how valuable friendship really is the last several weeks. One friend that I once taught with is headed to teach in Texas. Another good friend that worked at the same school is moving to Alabama.

My husband and I had dinner with a couple that we have been friends with since our children were young. We ended up having a three hour dinner! It had been way too long!

We have some friends from our young married years that we still are in contact with even though they are in different states…and when we talk it seems like it was just yesterday we spoke. And we are so fortunate to have great friendships that have been around since our school days.  We stick together because when one of us forgets, odds are that someone else remembers!

God Is…..

God IS love

I cannot get the love of God off my mind.

The Father loves us folks. He loves you, me, my friends, my acquaintances, people I don’t know, people I don’t like, people who don’t like me, my family, my co workers, people I agree with, people that I don’t agree with, people of different races, religions, political persuasions.

True Freedom

2 Corinthians 3_17

Our freedom as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ is not based upon our government..although I am so grateful to live in this nation.

My freedom is based on who I am in Christ.  In HIM my true freedom lies.

Romans 8:1-4  “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Happy 4th of July friends!
