The “Ocean Series” began as an escape of sorts. So many people love the ocean and it becomes their “Happy Place”, especially in the dead of winter.  The ocean has always been a place of refuge for me much like the mountains are for some people.

BUT, for the first time in a very long time something else has taken me to my “Happy Place”.  Something else now occupies my mind with such joy that I can hardly stand it. My problems and issues still exist, but they don’t seem to require as much attention. Why you ask?

Because we are becoming grandparents for the very first time!!  And as a mother of two sons, I must say that being told we were having a GRANDDAUGHTER sent me to a place where I had never been before, I am absolutely giddy! (I know I  would have been either boy or girl actually. 🙂 ) Grandparents!

The truth of the matter is simple. Jesus Christ is our refuge. He has created all this to bring us joy in the midst of our trials. While the circumstances of life swirl all around us, our nation and the world in general, HE reminds us of the joyful things. The things that we can focus on that He created with His love.

What is your “happy place?” Where is your refuge found?

Gee, I even changed my desktop screen, phone screen and FB cover. No longer is it a picture of an ocean or beach. It is now a cute little pair of pink tennis shoes.

I know our lives might never be the same, and I cannot imagine what it will be like when she arrives for us to hold and love. A “happy place” indeed.
