This is a repost from last year that I believe needs to be repeated. Respect seems to be limited in our world today. So……..
Thank You
My husband does something every time he sees someone in the military or a Veteran.
He approaches them with a firm handshake. And humbly says: “Thank you for serving our country.”
That person always seems so overwhelmed with his greeting and so humbled by it.
We have so much to be grateful for….we complain about things in our nation, yet the very freedom we enjoy in this nation has been defended by those veterans.
I believe that my husband is on to something.
This would be a good habit to teach our children.
Respect and appreciate our Veterans and Military.
Mark Twain said….”In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.”
So let’s thank a veteran and members of the military….I’m not too old to start a new habit.
I love Jesus. If I say nothing else, that is enough. But for those curiosity seekers, I am a 60 year old former special education teacher, current part time CCM Radio Announcer and author... who is married to her high school sweetheart. We have been together for 44 years, married almost 41 of those years! We have raised two sons, who are now married, have jobs and mortgages. AND...we became grandparents to a beautiful baby girl in 2018!! We also have our furry son, a West Highland Terrier.
My heart's desire is to encourage people in their daily life. I believe that the Father speaks to us all the time, sometimes I have been too busy to listen. Even during times of trials and troubles, which seem endless right now in 2020, HE is present and loves us unconditionally. Thanks for reading.
