That Green Stuff

Just what green stuff am I talking about?

That powdery stuff that I just wiped off all of the furniture on my back porch. The film that is lying ever so silently on our cars.

Yet, working havoc on those who have ventured outside in any way or opened their windows for fresh air.

Pollen.

It is amazing what these little guys can do to us. Sneezing, runny or stuffed noses, scratchy throats, coughing. All of which can lead into sinus infections. Need I say more?

It is kind of like lying. One small little “half truth” which leads to another lie. That lie needs to be covered up so one more fact is stretched a bit to make it look better. Before you know it, the green stuff is covering everything. And making you sick.

So you can wipe it away and start all over. It is like all our sin. We mess up, but we can begin again. The Father forgives us. He lets us start over.

The pollen may linger for a while, but we just keep cleaning it off the furniture. Yes, it will be replaced with some other type of allergen in the summer…but we can always wipe it up and begin again.

The most wonderful thing is that the Father has already cleaned it up.  We just see it here in this imperfect world.

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you–even Jesus.” Acts 3:19-20

I am so grateful for second chances, and third, and fourth…

And for antihistamines.
