The Simple Gospel of Jesus Christ

I was reminded of this fact yesterday morning as I participated in a “celebration” for a local listeners’ supported radio station that I have been a part of in some way or another over the last 25 years!

Twice a year the station provides an opportunity for listeners to donate their support and keep the radio station on the air. It is not a “…athon”. There are no promises that you will get this when you give that. No begging, no tri-fold blessings.

Nope, just a chance to hear about the ministry, how it came to be and how over the last 25 years the Father has taken an approximate 600 people per year and kept this station on-air.

Amazing. 600 people. Since 1990..
Some give a one time gift, some $5 a month, some $500…but it always works.

Why?
Because it is simple. The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The station was birthed from the Father to provide daily encouragement for believers as they walk out this daily thing called Life. Through the music…the programming and no commercials.

It is all about HIM.

No fancy building. They reuse scotch tape. One full time employee. Part time folks that come in a do a shift in addition to other jobs or commitments. It is one is the most honest, pure ministries I have ever had the privilege to be a part of..and remain a part of after 25 years. No doubt ever in my mind.

Why?
Because it is simple. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

It never changes. God the Father sent His son to die for us. We now have Christ living His life through us. He loves us beyond condition. “Dad ain’t mad” as Ken says at the station. We simply believe it, live it and surrender to it.

It is not complicated. No frills, no fund raising commitment card, no guilt and condemnation. Over the years I have heard time and time again about how a song or short one minute moment of encouragement has gotten someone through a trying day…or hour.

Just this morning someone shared a story about how a song literally saved her from driving her car into a grouping of trees. She could not go on anymore…The Father spoke through a 3 minute song and she pulled over the side of the road and wept. And lived.

It is simple..it works.
