Encouragement for Today~In today's world of swirling circumstances, we need to be reminded of how much we are loved by God.

What is it about the Cross?

I have a cross ring, a couple of cross necklaces. I have seen them in artwork, tattoos, drawn and colored. I have seen them in non flattering ways. But what does it really mean? Can I really describe what the cross means to me?crosses-2

No, I cannot. All I know is that it represents LOVE. It represents a LOVE that cannot be described in words. It represents sacrifice that I will never truly understand. It represents JESUS.

Brennan Manning said: “Jesus comes not for the super-spiritual but for the wobbly and weak-kneed who know they don’t have it all together, and who are not too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace.”%22For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.%22 1 Corinthians 1_18

How grateful I am that He chose to climb up and stay on that cross for me. He could have called legions of angels…He had so much power, and yet…He chose to take the wrath for my sin. How can I prove that? I cannot. I just know.

May I truly reflect on the message of the cross this Easter season….and know that although I don’t have it together, and never will…He does and did it for me.

IN CHRIST ALONE

I love Jesus. If I say nothing else, that is enough. But for those curiosity seekers, I am a 56 year old former special education teacher, current part time CCM Radio Announcer who is married to her high school sweetheart. We have been together for 40 years, married 37 of those years! We have raised two sons, who are now married, have jobs and mortgages. We have our furry son, a West Highland Terrier. It wasn't always easy, and I like sharing some insights from those "mommy" and "teaching" years. I also want to encourage people in their daily life. I believe that the Father speaks to us all the time, sometimes I have been too busy to listen. Even during times of trials and troubles, He is ever present. ~Be Encouraged Today~
