It has been established that I like clothes. I also like fashion. However, I do not want to try to dress like a 30-year-old. Those days should be over.
This is obviously something I could talk about in detail.
So what is a gal to do?
You can access tons of websites, blogs, magazine articles and opinions about what is “proper” for women my age.
Don’t wear black, wear bright colors; don’t wear baggy clothes, do wear fitted clothes; don’t wear leggings, do wear leggings as long as your shirt covers your bottom….
Don’t.
Do.
Now I am not going to pretend that I don’t care what I look like…because I do. I like dressing up sometimes, and I like a good ‘ole pair of jeans and a sweatshirt as well. I do wear leggings (fleeced lined at the moment). “Yoga pants” and I cannot seem to become friends, sweatpants still are my personal choice. But that is another blog post.
And make-up tips for those of us over 50? Those abound as well.
Don’t wear a glossy lipstick, wear a matte on your lips; don’t wear a pressed powder, do wear a dewy look; don’t wash with soap and water, do use a moisturizer.
Don’t.
Do.
Just so you’ll know.. I wear an organic makeup with a touch of pressed powder and matte pink lipstick with a bit of gloss. I wash my face with dead sea salt and do not use moisturizer.
I am kind of rebel in all areas. DON’T tell me what to do. I have always been a little like that, or so I am told.
The one thing I do know…….Be confident.
Whatever you choose to wear, whatever you choose not to wear. Whether in sweats, yoga pants, or a dress and those dreaded panty hose (for those under 30, feel free to google “pantyhose”)…..
Wear it all with confidence.
Because basically what matters is how you feel. How you feel about yourself. And in my humble opinion and through experience, that confidence comes from my relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God” Romans 5:1-2
My identity comes from Him. I am confident in HIM. I can be who He designed me to be….no matter what I have on or how I look.
So wear it with confidence.
IN CHRIST ALONE

I am also 55+ and am the happiest, most centered than I have ever been. A few years ago, I did not feel that way…was overcome with the “getting old” thing. However, as I was filled deeper with the Holy Spirit, and developed a more intimate relationship with Jesus, all that changed! Joy sprouts from the inside out, and I no longer care about what “the world” says about most things. With age comes the realization that only the Lord, relationships and love matter:-) And that is so very freeing!
May God continue to bless you on your journey!

We have so much in common! I am so thankful for the freedom and confidence that knowing Christ has bestowed….and has for all that will accept it. It is truly the only way to live. Bless you as you continue to write and share. I look forward to sharing with one another!
