Children really do grow up
Just an observation.
I thought I would crunch Cheerios under my feet for decades. And I knew I would never get to be in the bathroom alone.
And get a good’s night sleep ever again? Never…they were babies, and forget about the driving years! Sleep evades you when waiting up for one to make curfew!
But look what happened.
No more Cheerios, unless I drop them myself. And I can be in the bathroom as long as I want alone…unless the dog wanders in the sometimes open door. A good night’s sleep happens more often, and the reason it doesn’t sometimes is simply because I am getting old.
We got to spend the weekend with the kids. Our adult sons and their lovely wives. We ate, played games and laughed really hard. It’s weird in a way…
Like a time warp of sorts….I see adults…then I glance at their faces and into their eyes…..and see my baby boys.
So MOM, may you be encouraged right now…..
The time invested in your kids is worth it.
You are doing a great job.
You will have your “alone” time someday.
Just don’t wish it away.
Psalm 127:3 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
Trust me…it comes soon enough.
