After Christmas…
The kids are at home, school is not in session.
The toys are no longer fun….
We’ve all been there. Seems like the boxes and their delight lasted longer. Every year I thought we might should save some of the toys for the winter months. But alas, year after year we bought.
Learn from our mistakes.
So what to do?
Pictures. Take them, organize them, save them, label them.
Seriously.
It is rather funny. I have learned to respect my boys’ privacy of late. Neither of them is fond of me posting pictures of them unless they are recent. Kind of hard to do when you are writing a blog about being a mom.
But I respect them and hope someday they will change their mind. I cannot put them on Facebook or any social media. I don’t get it, but I am lucky I get to put my hubby’s picture anywhere near these places. Let’s just say I am a little more “expressive”.
SO…take the pictures NOW. Get them out there if you’d like, before they can tell you no!
And besides, little ones generally love it. I found that when the boys turned about 10 years old the eyes started rolling and the heads flung back and the fake smiles became more pronounced. In fact, they both still do that a little bit…
But after five pictures of the same pose, who could blame them?
So…get out the cell phones, cameras and whatever else snaps a picture. And enjoy….I can almost guarantee you the time is fleeting!!
Why even Mary treasured such things…”But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2:19
