Life Badges

I have missed writing each week as I have missed you!  I truly wonder how I ever worked a full-time, 40+ hour a week job!

We head six hours south every chance we get to see our first grandchild.  She has most certainly captured our hearts.  She is 7 weeks old and time is going faster with her than it did with our own sons. Could it be because it is not day-to-day with her and just cuddling and loving when we see her?

Our 40th H.S. Reunion is coming up next month and I am on the committee.  Didn’t we just graduate?  I was insecure and certainly did not know Christ like I know Him now, but I am grateful for all the experiences that made me who I am today.

Ah, and the book.  I am doing the “read aloud” now.  I am also checking out prices on publishing an actual paper bound book, in addition to the publishing on Amazon.  Not a publisher per say, just someone who will print it locally.  What a process! I am almost at the point where I am just going to hit “send” and be done with it so I can put my second book together.  It is a devotional.

So, as I celebrated another birthday this month(58)….I thank God for all He has done for me and continues to do.  I have decided not to complain about wrinkles and aging.  Wrinkles are now called “life badges” in my book.  And I am proud of each and every one of them!

We can celebrate each day because of Christ, and of course…. be proud of those “life badges.”

  1. Congratulations on becoming a grandma. My first grandchild is due in January. I’m told it will change my life and my heart. 🙂 I didn’t realize you were writing a book. Quite the journey…something else we have in common. “The Book” that feels like “my baby” that is all consuming. Look forward to see your book in print! Praise the Lord for His creativity breathing into these cracked vessels!

    1. Oh Karen! I am so grateful that the Father uses us, indeed our “cracked vessels.” My book is ready, but like you it does feel like a “baby”, and someone may think that “baby” is ugly! LOL But the Father has been very patient with me. I keep hearing that still small voice over and over….it is not about you Tamara!! So, it is going to be on Amazon soon. And becoming a grandma is like nothing I ever expected. Oh yes, people told me over and over how it would change my life and heart, but I truly had no idea to the degree in which that would occur. If our children were the rainbows, the grandkids are the pot of gold! I am so excited for you and cannot wait to hear from you once the baby gets here! Take care and have a wonderful week!!
