I found this post from last January, 2015 and the scripture is the same that I felt led to use for tomorrow’s post. I believe it is a truth that the Father wants us to grasp! And our creek is up again from the horrific rains of the last several days. I love it when God uses an explanation point!!

It had been raining for a couple of days. In fact, so much rain that I even considered the preference to snow! Which for me is a stretch since I am a total “warm weather woman”.
We have lived in the same house for 28 years and have had to deal with a creek behind our yard. It has flooded our little shed a few times, taking with it some boxes of memories. But we learned from those incidents and now we have taken precautions. And the city has widen and deepened the creek.
So the depth in which the water runs through the creek now is very different than it was years ago. We still go outside just to watch the fury of it now.
And it doesn’t compare to the ocean depths…
Now look at the definitions of wide, deep, long and high as Webster’s defines:
wide: extending a great distance from one side to the other : not narrow
: measured from side to side : having a specified width: opened as far as possible
deep: having a large distance to the bottom from the surface or highest point
long: extending a great distance from one end to the other end : not short
:extending a specified distance : having a specified length :lasting or continuing for a great amount of time
high: rising or extending upward a great distance: extending or reaching upward more than other things of the same kind: located far above the ground or another surface
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:16-19
Look at the dimensions of the love of Christ! A great distance from one side to another, from the bottom to the surface or highest point, from one end to the other, rising up or extending upward….more than other things of the same kind!!
That is a dimension of love that we cannot even imagine! Deeper than our backyard creek…and even more so than the dimensions of the oceans of this world.
That brings me peace. That brings me comfort. That brings me something that nothing of this world can bring me.
We have to hold on to that truth…
…..as we enter this New Year……
…..plunge into that depth…
….plunge into that width…
….plunge into that length…
….plunge into the height…
….you will get pretty WET!
