Celebration…A Different Way

This week is our Contemporary Christian radio station’s “Celebration”. I am currently working and on air three days a week…and it is like being “home.”

We are a “listener’s supported station” that has been on the air for over 25 years..without any commercials or sponsorships. And it works. And when it quits working….it quits. No plan “B”.

It is our “fundraiser” and I use that term loosely. We don’t drum up donations. We don’t make any promises other than the promise that “You are loved by your Heavenly Father.”

Jesus Christ is our Life. He is enough. He is our provision. And if I have learned anything in my many years of life that is for certain, it is that fact. HE is enough.

Our mission is: …”to encourage Christians in the truth of the Gospel. Daily encouragement is vital in anyone’s life, and being reminded of who we are in Christ is so very important.”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I was a volunteer at the station when it began all those years ago. Then I worked there on air 11 years ago. Now, I am back. And I can say with all certainty, all confidence…that this is the purest ministry I personally have ever been a part of. The owner/ station manager is so careful with the listener’s money. I do sincerely believe that the stapler and pencils, along with many other things were there 11 years ago…probably 25 years ago if I had kept a record!

We depend on the love of God, the movement of God to deal with our listeners. We provide the opportunity twice a year as we come to the listeners and explain the ministry of the station.

And that’s that. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am so grateful to be a part of something that I know represents the true love of God.
