Encouragement for Today~In today's world of swirling circumstances, we need to be reminded of how much we are loved by God.

The Spinning Beach Ball

Beach Balls

I should be excited when I see a beach ball. It should mean that there is a body of water close by. I relish in the opportunity to hit a beachball back and forth in that body, an ocean with a beach would be preferable.

But alas, the Mac “spinning beach ball” is not a welcomed sight. I do not want to see it. I want my cursor to remain a cursor, nothing else.  And I seem to see it more and more these days. Of course this sweet Mac is a 2008 model, a cast off to Mom when the eldest was in college and wanted a newer model.

NO!Not the Spinning Ball!!

Seven years old in dog years….this guy is younger than I am….49……so why the spinning beach ball? Of course I will google it to find out what I need to know to “fix” it. Chances are that I won’t understand the directions and will look for the “Dummy” version of the instructions.

Life sometimes reminds me of the spinning beach ball. Your cursor is pointed in the right direction.  You are doing all the things that life demands and everything comes to a screeching halt!! You have a mammogram and the doctor calls to tell you that you need to come back for a second scan and then you learn it is cancer.

The ball spins…

You receive a call from a friend that her child has disappeared..for the third time this year. She was scheduled for rehab in a week.

The ball spins….

Your husband doesn’t feel too well, but heads off to work anyway. Then the call comes from his boss; he’s been rushed to the hospital.

The ball spins…

There is no rhyme nor reason to any of these scenarios. Life just happens. We live in a fallen world that has not been redeemed and we are going to go through tough times. The ball spins..

We cannot google answers to these situations. There is no “Guide to Life for Dummies”.

But there is the Father God. Abba. The one who gets it all. The one who is with you when you say goodbye to a love one. He is there when you don’t know if you can get up in the morning due to your severe depression.

I know from experience. When the ball has been spinning in my life….HE has been there. He has never left my side. And He won’t leave yours.

The ball spins…..and He is right there.

Now excuse me while I get back to my search….the ball is spinning with a vengeance.

I love Jesus. If I say nothing else, that is enough. But for those curiosity seekers, I am a 57 year old former special education teacher, current part time CCM Radio Announcer who is married to her high school sweetheart. We have been together for 41 years, married 38 of those years! We have raised two sons, who are now married, have jobs and mortgages. We have our furry son, a West Highland Terrier. It wasn't always easy, and I like sharing some insights from those "mommy" and "teaching" years. I also want to encourage people in their daily life. I believe that the Father speaks to us all the time, sometimes I have been too busy to listen. Even during times of trials and troubles, He is ever present. ~Be Encouraged Today~
