3:45 AM Wake Up Call

I didn’t set an alarm.

No one made a call or sent a text to make sure I was up…

My husband didn’t jostle my arm with “Honey, wake up.”

I just woke up.
Every……single….day….last week, weekend and now this week!

It didn’t matter if I went to bed early or late. It didn’t matter if I took some “ibuprofen” for arthritis before retiring. I woke up. Consistently, without fail.

Now, I usually try to listen to the Holy Spirit living within me….but I think I ignored HIM. Until Saturday morning.

I didn’t want to be up at 3:45, couldn’t He speak to me at 8:00AM for goodness sake? Let’s be reasonable Abba. Now before you start throwing things at me for being “disrespectful”, my Abba Father is my Daddy and I am always honest with Him. Friends, He knows my heart anyway, so why not just forge ahead? I want that type of relationship with Him.

So I wrote in my journal Friday that if I woke up again like that I would go to the Bible…and see what He wanted me to see. Friends, He is always speaking to us…sometimes we just don’t listen.  Sometimes He has to try a couple of times to get my attention!

I have been beyond frustrated and upset about some things that I cannot go into because of confidentiality. But this person has been hurt beyond belief by someone he respected and trusted. And I have been mad….then the Lord spoke to my heart about the simple gospel. And I wrote about it in my last post.

Guess what I read Saturday morning at 3:45 AM? About just that…..the simple gospel of Jesus Christ! I love it when my Daddy confirms to me what He has already said.

I read Galatians 1-2. Paul was basically admitting he had messed up big time, and yet he was accepted as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ once he accepted that gift of salvation. But then he went on to talk to the Galatians about not having to “perform” to be a Christian. The Simple Gospel folks.

The Simple Gospel.

“For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” Galatians 2:19-21

Friends, the world in which we live is messed up to be sure. The evening news is depressing. The hurt and pain we see others we love endure is crushing. SO we have to know the simple Gospel! It cannot be messed with….we have to rely on the truth we know. We cannot allow legalists complicate it today anymore that the Pharisees tried to complicate it in Jesus day!

We must trust HIM and HIM alone. People will disappoint us. I disappoint people I am sure….but HE won’t.

“Foolish Galatians.”……….Yep, Chapter 3.

  1. Loved this! God has a plan and He includes us in unusual ways sometimes. Then there are those dry times when we seem to walk alone and He is quiet and we wonder where is He when I need Him most? Oh, He is right there near our every heart beat, ordering and guarding our footsteps, shielding us when we get too close to the edge, and catching us when we fall down so we have a soft landing. Then one day in the not so far future, we are conversing again like old friends and being prepared for duty to carry out His plan, not ours.
    I love Him so.
    Thanks for your transparency.
God Bless you in all things; always!

  2. My wake up has been between 3:00 and 3:30, “arrrrggggg” happy to oblige God but I have to get up and work all day! So I really would rather just go back to bed! But I’m committed to serve he who is greater than me so up I get!

    1. As I talk to folks, I realize that many of us are waking…a call for us to pray for our nation as well? God’s timetable is not our own for sure! Hope you drink plenty of coffee! :). Blessings to you for “hearing” Him and responding. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
